Oli studied Sound Recording and Music at the University of Surrey (Tonmeister). He spent his placement year as the assistant sound engineer for Peter Gabriel at Real World Studios. Here, his recording and mixing skills were improved and he also played a key role in the upgrade of Peter’s personal studio. For Peter’s Back To Front tour, Oli built auto-switching playback systems and helped coordinate back-line and recording rigs. He subsequently toured with musicians including Birdy and Lissie.
Oli has engineered studio sessions; front-of-house; monitors and back-line with many amazing musicians from around the world. He writes, produces and performs music and is in the process of working with several musicians to develop their initial ideas into records. Now based from Gabriel’s Real World Studios as an in-house engineer, Oli also produces music for catwalks during Paris fashion week and regularly visits venues around the UK to make live recordings. He also writes the odd review for Computer Music magazine and sometimes visits film sets to make sure people are singing in time…
